How far does your love go?

I was tucking Luke in bed last night......

M: Luke, I love you to the moon & back

L: I love you to the sky & the fan (ceiling)

This morning while eating breakfast after, apparently, thinking about it all night......

L: Mommy, I love you to the clouds & GOD!

.......and I think it feels good to be loved THAT much!

Violet Beauregarde - OH MY

Help us! We are addicted to blue berries. Grandma has 5 beautiful bushes this year FULL of these little fountains of youth. I think we may live forever at this point. Luke's favorite thing to do these days is "go pick blue (normally sounds like boo) berries". I now have him understanding that we pick & THEN eat.

Luke : holding up his prized berries. You should see how great they look "later on" if you know what I mean. - speaking of that.....Luke made a blueberry pie with lemon zest.....using 5 cups of berries. DELICIOUS.

Look out for black snakes though. They wait for birds come come eat the berries!! I feel safe.

"Farm Bike"

This beauty of a bike was a gift Luke got for Christmas from Grammy & Pop Pop. The front tire alone could crush a monster truck. The back tires are used to grind boulders into powder. The shiny red paint is accented with wicked cool stickers including a "Harley Davidson" sticker which basicly tells you that ...this bike is fast!!!  The bright yellow paint inside the wheel welcomes friends to come and admire the beast of all bikes.

Don't mess with Luke on this bike.  You cannot catch him even if you wanted to. He rides with reckless abandon and only stops to pick blue berries!  It is his "farm bike".

Summer fun

Luke played Spider Man at the mall. He almost jumped as high as the second level. My heard almost stopped but he, of course, loved it. I am sure this is not the first time he will wear a harness in his life!

Luke went to a FREE movie at Beaver Creek Commons today with his buddy Collin. Ella was a champ during the whole movie. Popcorn and drink for $1. Cannot beat that. We saw "Charlotte's Web" which held their attention for almost the entire movie. I wasn't loving it considering I just saw a HUGE spider in my house yesterday. The cartoon version makes the spider look sweet somehow. I prefer the classic version.

It's not a party until.....

Someone gets a toilet seat stuck around their neck.

Lesson learned : Some things are easy going on and hard coming off. Anything you use to go potty on is not a toy and, although extremely cute, does not make a nice necklace.

Happy Birt-day to Mommy!

So yeah, I am officially 29 as of the 14th. I had a wonderful birthday weekend with the family. My WONDERFUL sister watched the kiddos so I could enjoy a meal out with Greg & mom & dad Boush. I am finally "with it" and got an I-pod Nano, which I am loving. I listen to my podcast on it while I clean...need to clean! Sara & I went to breakfast at Finch's (the truck stop...whoops I licked an ashtray...coughed up a hairball....have a little chest hair...wear an eye patch) and had some good laughs on our actual b-day. Mom made dinner that night and had a little family party. Good times. Very thankful for my family & friends that love me so. I am one blessed 29 year old girl...woman...almost 30 year woman :)

My favorite birthday gift was Luke's song on my b-day morning. He did another longer, even sweeter version but it was too long to upload. Ella woke me up to the sound of her saying "mama" which is the sweetest thing you will ever hear. Bliss.

BEACH BABIES

Our first Real Family of Four vacation......

We took our first real family vacation over the 4th of July holiday. One whole week of family time & boy do we miss it. It was a last minute decision to actually go for it...but we are so glad we did. Greg had a lot of vacation time to use and we have never been on a trip with just our little family. We are so thankful to have been able to take this precious time together.

"the birds ate our bacon"

Luke got to go on his first fishing trip with Daddy. I should say...Greg got to take Luke fishing. Greg was more excited than Luke of course. He took Luke to "Outdoor World" the day before to make sure they had all their supplies (guy stuff) ready. My only input was that Luke had to wear sunscreen. Luke met this 6 year old named Nicholas on the pier. He talked his head off and made sure he was hydrated. :) They, of course, became instant friends because Luke is the most hospitable kid you will ever meet. He has now earned a new nickname...."Local Luke". He is a local everywhere he goes.

Greg is going to tell the story of Lukes big catch : que Greg :

So we were about 3/4 of the way down the pier and I was baiting up our rigs with some cut shrimp...... FYI  Luke prefers to call bait "bacon" for obvious reasons.  After both rods were cast and our bacon was on the bottom, Luke proceeded to offer Nicholas crackers and then some water (even though we were out of both).  About that time, I felt a nibble.  Quickly, I set the hook and passed the rod off to Luke.  He took the rod (the big rod mind you) and cranked in the first fish of his young life all by himself.  He held the fish up with great pride and asked what kind of fish it was.  I told him it was a pinfish and a mighty nice one too.  I let the fish go, but Luke will always remember the day he conquered the mighty pinfish.  I am excited that this is only the beginning of a long fishing partnership.
